Great concert by Sarah Lee Guthrie last night.
We've traded our guitar picks.
That means It's got 1/4 of DNA from Woody Guthrie on It,
and that's about as close as I can get to the beginning of folk music. :=))

SHE'S HERE
(in memory of Jackie Guthrie 7-5-1944 - 10-14-2012)
I.
People gather, music sounds
voices talk, eyes are open
ears are waiting
trees speak autumn
so does the rain
the tour starts here
the songs start here
what does it take to flower you a garden?
to grow you a wood?
it takes music
music that tells that story
that real life story
standing in front of a forest
she's here
she's everywhere
every day of the week
this day the wind blows and
she's here
another mistake and
she's here
sun, moon and stars
she's never too far from my heart
wherever, whenever, whatever
she's a rainbow
there's a shooting star and
the seven sisters smile when
I want to hold it -
I fall, I rise again
I'm a rainbow and lift the sunset
come stay with me
the seven sisters watch over us
while smoking
never hurting anyone
playing it safe -
he says his prayers for us
while we move these bones
getting home, most of the time;
rubber walls, open doors
she's here
like the soul of a swan
while we watch the snow
-there's a target on your heart-
take some cover with me
watch this show of hands,
of hearts, of heartbeats,
broken hearts
beware:
-there's a target on your heart-
the speed of light never changes
put love into it
well, we did
put pain into it
it heals
it rises and becomes light again
G-dspeed
put on shoes
walk around
singalong
I do fit in
yes, I do
I put on daddy's shoes
and mommy's shoes too
I do fit in
yes, I do
bring mom, show and tell
take me, bring me, show me.
tell me, sing me, sing turtle
show and tell, spider as well,
ring the bell, feet won't smell
just show and tell
well, Preacher, bring your own G-d
pray and praise to All
pray and praise to None
kindness will do
this day
another day to bring my own sun
to my own lonely streets
where kindness will do
lay down our arms
bring our own Peace
she's here
there's reasons to believe
aaaaah
will you be left behind
aaaaah
have you been baptised
aaaaah
will you make it to the Gate on time
aaaaah
no more left behind
no more way around
aaaaah
there's the light
she's here
II.
and beauty keeps on surrounding
us, them, everyone of us
call it a miracle
-miracles do happen-
be realistic
plan for a miracle
water; well, there's sandbags
no more money; well, hurry up and wait
well soldier, isn't it the same old story
be aware
she's here
dig into the music
it's sowing seeds and harvest, same timish
cabin fever, I'm getting out
let's make love
the sun will rise
we will - we do
feeling fine, losing my mind
sun-slide, bass-boom
shaking seeds
let go, let be
going from town to town
(I ain't got no home in this world anymore)
like a hobo,
like a lonesome song on its own
like Woody, homeless bound
in a world, too big to live in
my tired feet out of the dust-bowl
into the cold mountains
into the orchards
came with the dust, gone with the wind
no home in this world
but she's there
she's here
and when I die, let it all be free
let it be spring, eternal spring
where-in she is, see the sight
see the light, unnnerve your brain
float through time and arriving the springtime
always
the journey is the destination
in the springtime
she's here
take it big easy
stand in a hurricane-window
show your self to what shows itself to you
act, turn on, tune in, join awareness
take it big easy
lend a hand, turn on, tune in, don't drown
take it big easy as it gets
like you give
stroll on
while dreaming of a movie, and baby's in career-town
at the bottom of the stairs
climbing to popstarry stardom
passing tests, east meets west,
only to do is the best
stroll on
-get lost
find a home
meet people-
lend your thoughts on this trail
lend your fire
lend an ear
climb mountains like days gone by,
like bright examples,
like you
and shine;
she's here
someone's waiting for you
birds are singing, smile blossoms
soul is stormy
birds are singing in your eyes
heart is wild
sweetheart, come back to me
I'm here
angels fly, beacause, you know
they don't think that much
they're angels and angels they be
lightly living
flying in a world, this world and
she's here
in
this family that keeps the legacy going
turn your eyes up, see what you see
this family, this we, this you and me
this forever free
these ears that hear
these eyes that see
this yes, this no, this come,
this go, eyesight, daylight
turn your eyes up and see
she's here
them's got eyes
them's got ears
(lilacs in bloom
lilacs in light
lilacs on the road
lilacs like daffodils
lilacs in june
lilacs in november
lilacs like wood
lilacs like fire
lilacs like you and me
lilacs in bloom)
them's got eyes
them's got ears
she's here
